It’s a crescent-shaped shawl, mixing an easy, textured stitch pattern with stripes. The bottom edge is finished with a garland of pompoms, reminiscent of the string lights in traditional French taverns called “guinguettes”.
I have put up the very last skeins of the colorlimonium night in the shop – there are only 5 skeins left of this unique, nonreproductible colorway.
Beth Chatto is a laceweight wool and silk yarn, in a limited edition of natural dyes. The base yarn is identical to the one used for the yarns London and Covent Garden.
However, this pattern was initially designed by EclatDuSoleil/Hélène Marcy for a laceweight mohair blend. And it so happens that I have recently added a beautiful laceweight mohair and silk yarn to my yarn range!
Each kit includes two colours of mohair yarn: 75 g (= 3 balls) for the main color and 35 g (= approx. 1.5 balls) for the contrast color used in the stripes.
You can choose among six color combinations:
Version 1: main color cloud (grey), contrast color sunshine yellow.
Version 2: main color cloud (grey), contrast color hot pink.
Version 3: main color cloud (grey), contrast color red.
Version 4: main color red, contrast color cloud (grey).
Version 5: main color blackcurrant, contrast color hot pink.
Version 6: main color blackcurrant, contrast color sunshine yellow.
The kits in my shop are sold without patterns, to enable customers having already purchased the pattern to buy the kit without paying the pattern twice.
It was love at first touch between me and this new yarn.
Hanfwerk is a yarn composed by 90% organic merino and 10% hemp. Each skein of 50g holds 150 meters (165 yds) of subtly nuanced yarn.
The stitch definition is glorious in both knitting and crochet. I got the manufacturer’s knitting gauge of 24 sts to 10 cm (4″) on a 3 mm needle. In crochet, a 4 mm hook is perfect.
Currently available in three soft neutral hues, there are more colours to come – if you like it, of course!
